grantr Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 STi had a funny squeak from the engine bay last night but car was running fine so thought nothing of it. This morning, took it out the drive and it's got no power steering and the battery and handbrake lights wont go out. Limped it back to house and waiting on Subaru Assistance coming out now. Luckily still got a month of the extended warrantly left. Any ideas what might be up? Phoned Nobles, they think it's lost a belt or pulley somewhere?
grantr Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 Found issue. Big pulley at front of engine disintegrated and took air con drive belt with it which in turn has taken off the other aux drive belt next to it. Not a massive issue but car needs to be lifted to Nobles. Just an inconvenience I could do without today!
sti_steve Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Glad you are getting it sorted. Nice peice of mind having the Subaru Assistance for the first year of ownership.
grantr Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 The Subaru Assistance worked petty well. Thankful for the warranty too, crankshaft pulley ran to a few hundred quid. Nobles reckoned it was only the 2nd one they had seen fail.
