plimpix Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Quick question see if I were to goto hypertec to get my servicing done would I lose my warranty from Subaru? Because I thought that now a day's dealers can't force customers to goto there dealership for servicing? Can't seem to find anything on it. For i don't see why we need to pay dealer prices. Or is this just for re-sale value it's better to have the subaru stamp! Not that that really matters cos i tried to sell my and everyone just seems to take the mince with the prices i have been offered so will just keep it.
irn_bru Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 (edited) If my understanding is correct, servicing can be carried out at any garage you choose as long as genuine parts are used? Doesn't offer any/much saving on parts but can save a whole lot on labour costs. The value of having all the stamps from the main dealer??? I thought about it for around 5secs then phoned Hypertech If anyone disagrees, then please feel free to correct me. Colin. If it's any help,my servicing has been done at Hypertech and I have just had struts replaced under warrenty at main dealer. Edited May 21, 2009 by Irn_Bru
G.Mac Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 yea that is true, I only continued to take my car to the main dealer as mine was modified so I wanted to keep them sweet as I was having a few warranty issues at the time..lol. I know when I had my RX8 it was stipulated it had to be at a VAT registered garage also for some reason
b4z Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Warranty will be fine if its serviced on time using subaru parts.
gordi82 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 as above its ok to service your car anywhere as long as they use subaru parts are vat registerd and can stamp your service book
bobbyc Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 (edited) I use both Hypertech & Grieves as the others have said as long as genuine parts are used there are no issues! Then again I can't have much left on mine that would be covered by a warranty Have faith it's a Subaru keeep it oiled & watered & it will last forever Edited May 22, 2009 by bobbyc
