Question On Brakes

Recommended Posts

I have a 96 import with standard brakes ( discs and calipers ) upgrading the discs all round going to need 4pot front calipers,

What calipers will i need for the rear 2 pot or 4, disc size 290mm.

Plus has anyone heard of calipers made by a company called Endless ( apparentley ment to be very rare http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Subaru-Impreza-Endle...%3A1%7C294%3A50 )

Will any other calipers be a straight fit or need to be modified i.e from a newage or blobeye or (along that line)

Thanks for any help

Matt.

When I bought Gramps brakes (bearing in mind they are biger disks than standard) the mounting holes had to be drilled on the hubs for the bolts from the mounting brakets to get the callipers to fit round the disks (I just nut and bolted them) but if your going standard size disks i wouldnt of thought you would have to make any mods for them too fit, but dont hold me to that lol.

Hi matey

Just get a decent set of 4 pots from a new age with good discs and pads, uprate your hoses to braided and do the same for the rears.

Thins will stop you anytime, if you plan on serious track days then you will need better brakes such as AP Racing or Ksport 6 pots but then your talking serious brakes for track use.

If you want only a road bias set up then the 4 pots will be enough for you

Not planning on any serious track days, just a good set of road brakes. Going for bigger discs all round 295mm front and 290mm back, 4pots for the front and 2pots for the back, will any of the calipers of a newer style impreza fit 2000 onwards. Not the best on the tecno stuff.

Have a word with Ian at Godspeed Brakes, he is very helpful, think he also has a group buy on Scoobynet as well so should be able to save you a few ££££'s
