BalliSTIc Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Rather a lot of these nasty wee humplets in the middle of the road these days. Not sure if I've hit one (more?) a touch hard of late, but have noticed my fronts creak (I think more left than right) even when rolling over them at low speed, albeit with enough oomph to compress the shocks. Not really sure what's up. No creak when I bounce on the front corner meself (but then the car don't bounce much anyway!) and she sits four squre with no leaning at rest and no funny business in the handling department. Can't see much wrong under the arches. Anywhere else I should be looking? Top mounts perhaps? Would appreciate any techy input. Cheers folks! Glyn (running 08 STI Hatch, stock, no mods... yet) NB MODS - please feel free to relocate/ redirect this post if you think I'm in the wrong place here.
Spaceman Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 silicon grease the springs see if it makes a diff
westtra Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 i have a creak in a 56 sti and i think i have traced it to the gromit that holds the bonnet holder upper in place thats the cause. will grease it today and see what happens let you know.
westtra Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 well been out playing and on mine its coming from behind intercooler. I think its either a intercooler mount, engine mount if there's one behind there or a pipe etc rubbing.
