Afternoon,

After the delights of smashing my diff at KH yesterday iv stripped my rear diff to bits. The ratio showing on the diff is 39.10 and my new diff is the same. iv also counted the teeth of the diff and the teeth of the main shaft and the sums come to 3.9.

Question is am sure steve whitson (sw motorsport) said that the front diff was 4.33. Now does these diffs match up????? or if not then will this be the reason my diff went BOOOOM

i beleive it does not matter what ratio diff you run as it will just change the ratio of split from front to back say standard is 60 - 40 and you put a different diff in front you might get 50- 50 or 70- 30 or thats what ive been told as my red one ran more split to front,

its all a dccd does after all and you can do it manually by fitting dofferent ratios to each end , ideally you want same as standard

unless my reading up on transmissions is wrong

Don, that's pretty much all wrong mate. :)

You 'MUST' have the same front and read Final Drive Ratios !!!!!!!!!

If you don't your centre diff will be Toast :o

Available Ratios for the TY754 and TY752 are 4.44:1, 4.11:1, and 3.9:1. The later is acheived in the JDM car by using 3.9 CWPs in both the front and back with 1:1 drop gears in the centre dif. Euro cars use a 3.9 in the front and a 1:1.1 drop gear, then a 3.54 (3.54 x 1.1 =3.9) in the rear. I think the reason for the difference is to lower the speed of the prop shaft on the euro cars with their higher top speed.

If you were using the box you got from Grieg, it has a 4.11 front diff from memory.

ok arch wont touch any scoob diffs from now on

will only touch the diffs on my 546 bhp evo 4 i am running this season

no need to take the piss

but i never got the single seater arch

but i did import from japan a mitsubishi evo 4 just had its sva last week

me not out to prove anything , just out for a laugh its better than going to hot hatch days with all the neds .

anyway at forrest burn i remember being just 2 hundredths of a second of the pace in my boggo standard scoob with 30 quid kwik fit remoulds against some stripped out race cars with alot more horse power and slicks

even at doune my split times were just as quick as cars with alot more horse power and again i was running a boggo standard scoob not stripped out , standard brakes , pishy standard suspension , standard boost etc etc etc and it was my first time after all , its not all about massive horse power its how big your balls are

just look at the boy in the old escort rs2000 he pissed all over our times even beating yourself by 2 seconds a run and myself by 3 secs

on the road scoobs would piss all over him but on track he had the bigger balls

ive also got to drive car to and from events so a bit of restraint is called for

also ran last year with a ****ed up rear brake on rear drivers side wheel it used to lock up all the time on light braking , i thought i done ok last year considering my car was standard and only cost 1800 notes

lol about above but never really spoke to you before for advice , it would be nice john but you and arch are like the secret service ,never wanting to give a secret away lol

i can see why you keep things hidden you got mad mac to beat , but me, greig and arch aint going to get any place near you or mac , so advice onsuspension set ups etc for different tracks or any advice would be a nice help

but there is no chance of me getting any place close to you

my kahunas aint big enough yet need a little more practice in car

also got a big problem with my kidneys and adrenal glands as i am not produceing any adrenaline so cant seem to get into the zone anymore with adrenaline buzz everything seems to be boreing and i cant be bothered to try.

its called addinsons diesese ( still waiting on treatment as they have just found out why i was really ill ) , main thing is i should have glasses and cant see a bloody thing as i refuse to get them , so hopefully after treatment sorry body mods i will get into it a bit more this year and start asking questions

Remark was intended for Grieg in response to his reply in post 7. I have no illusions about my car being competative this season even with John concentrating on other avenues this year. So having my "ass whipped" is not really a concern :D

just having a laugh its what BA says in the a-team, hope johns plans come together , have heard what he is up to but will leave that up to john to tell ,i was hopeing to have a yatter next sunday but charles says you have not entered kames , whats up you busy working or you going mechanicing for john

no specs mate , trying to get contacts but cant get time of work to go to opticians after the week i had at hospital , back to hospital on the 21st got letter from hospital saying i need to go back in , not good news as all the drugs they pumped into me did not jumpstart me and test after showed i need more

Not sure if there is a problem with my Pm wasnt aware there was :D

Car just isnt ready thats the reason I've not entered, having some issues at the moment which should be resolved soon. :D
