Well it just doesnt seem to be going for me these days.

So here is the story :D

Was on the m9 towards the central meet at stirling and half way there is started to get a strange banging noise from the rear. It was ok when you had your foot on the accelerator but when you take it off it started to bang.

When i got to stirling i started to play about with the DCCD half settings etc etc and it seems to sort itself out half way up the dccd ladder ;)

Anyways on the way home i put it back to normal and now it seems ok no banging what so ever.

Thought it was maybe the diff but now am unsure??

HELP

Please treat this question within the context it is asked.

Random banging or regular banging that altered with speed?

Regular banging when altered with speed but i got really bad when at slower speed tho after playing with the dccd it seemed all to go away. I got spaceman(greig) to look at my rear end when driving at slow speed and he said that the left driveshaft seemed to bounce up and down abit.

New suspension and geometry set up means lots of things have been loosened off. I'd satrt by checking they've all been tightened up again.

If it was happening on the overrun with the dccd wide open the rear would have been doing most of the engine braking. You mention it was worse at low speeds, where you in a lower gear with more engine braking?

Also was there just a noise or could you feel anything?

I fitted the suspension last wednesday and there wasnt any banging noises at all and i got the car set up this morning at about 11am. Was out in the car most of the afternoon seeing customers and there was nothing wrong that i could see.

Picked a mate up and then stated to head to stirling wasnt til i was half way there that it started to a small noise at first but by the time i got to the service station at low speed in a lower gear. There a banging noise and alot of vibration through the rear.

Its just strange that on the way home in a higher gear and lower gear it seems to be ok now

Hmmmm, toughie.

Doubt it'll have anything to do with the dccd to be honest as thats built into your gearbox and you said the noise was coming from the rear.

If it altered with speed your looking at prop, diff, shafts, hubs or brakes.

Yeah its making me scratch my head to.

Iv just fitted new disc's and pads last week to as well as a new gearbox and DCCD.

Il strip the rear end tomorro and have a look hopfully its something SIMPLE. I have spare diffs, shafts, props, hubs and brakes kicking about
