im new to this aswell so not 2 sure i think i may have a similar prob, i needed my headgasket doing i get it back 2mo so will let u kno if its cured it, could be the coils to the spark plugs.

Yes mate i got told it could be a coil pack breaking down but will have to wait and see , whos dealing with yours ?

The coil pack is fine on it, but it has a definate misfire on idle when it goes down on one cylinder. Old fashioned mechanics tracked it back to the lead arcing out. The were no codes in the ECU, and a reset made no difference either. Once the leads are on that should be it. I would expect the boost soleniod to either throw up a code, or show overboost or low boost tbh.

The boost solenoid will only throw up a code if it fails electrically not if it is clogged, also it fails safe it is more likely to limit boost to wastegate pressure 0.5 BAR, an oil contaminated solenoid and/or boost control pipework will cause hesitant boost control without CEL indication.

Basically as I said. . With no code in there, it does not show either high or low boost, and none other the other symptoms, so was ruled out.

cool, mine is still playing up im goin crazy, only under load, i get problems where it seems like the boost drops off?? its hard to explain, also it doesnt start strait away. thats why i think it may be coil pack or packs

Try speaking to craig at Kent Performance http://kentperformance.torque-steer.co.uk/index.htm

You never know you luck dosnt hert for a second opinion

Seems like he knows what hes doing unlike my last mechanic
