Joe G Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Just got my new wheels today (pics to follow tomorrow) and decided im gonna get a set of coilovers to finish off the look by lowering the car 30 to 40mm. What coilovers do you all recommend for a 2003 sti spec c?? Cheers Joe
wilky Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Joe, Im running teins and as you know my car is lower than a snakes bawbag in a wagon rut. Not too harsh but you do need to watch for potholes. Im just waiting for the Xmas wallet sting to subside then Im going to get the electronic contoller and stepper motors so I can adjust it from in the car. Tein also offer a not to bad reconditioning service as well which is pretty reasonable Im led to believe. Callum
johnnyr6 Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 can't go wrong with AST's or Prodrive Ohlins imo. Johnny
Joe G Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 I was looking at the tein super streets but heard they were pretty harsh. (you know what the roads are like on bute wilky ), Also came across these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=370139532254 made by apex and seem to have had good reviews when i did a search for them on google. Got in touch with the guy at CDFracing and he says he does them for £599. Whats everyones thoughts??
scooby222 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 hi mate ive had a set of these fitted to my 05 sti for about 3 months now and i love them. get the odd clunk but not often. for the money i really cant fault them,i got them as part of the group buy on snet and they came with front and rear pillowball ,camber adjust top mounts and remote rear adjusters. the other halfs got tein super etreets on her itnegra and there doesnt feel much between them, mine are a bit more compliant but thats probably just down to the settings. for reference i do 95% of my driving on country a and b roads and unless your in full mcrae mode i reckon theyre more compliant than the standard set up cheers dave
emoe Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Teins are brilliant coilovers, but if the cost puts you off, try the B&C Express versions, make sure you go for 50lb springs though as i am running the 65lb Track springs and its a little harsh.
Joe G Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 Cheers for the replys guys. Ill let you know what i go for in the end. Cheers Joe
