Got a call from a friend, just did a hard 1st and 2nd gear launch in his 2.5 converted Classic.... and lost nearly all drive. I suggested he had blown a cv joint....

He managed to limp home with a knocking noise, I went round next day took off the wheel, removed the CV and drive shaft, finding the following :

Now he is running 450+ bhp but i couldnt believe how neat the shear was ! what do you reckon on that ??

I can think of cheaper ways to cut through metal LOL

That is incredible, bigger driveshafts and hubs on the way for Christmas then is it :)

that is some neat break, mind you id sooner that break than the gearbox, new drive shaft on the way

I put new drive shaft in it for him today ... been out ripping up the gillingham link road as a trial :) He's just had a 6peed jdm box installed and yes was very worried thats what had broke...

Not to sure on total figures at the moment, but last time Zen performance worked on it, it was mapped to 450bhp and around 450ft/lb torque, but the actuator needs replacement as its gone weak, its a setup good for 500bhp and will be back in the new year for its actuator and remap.. And jumping back in my 343bhp scooby was depressing as it seemed too slow .......

they do that when you launch with 450ish

the R180 rear convertion rather than the R160 helps. . but they shear too at about 500... lol

This was a front one.... it was Lee with the silver sti you mapped a few years ago and I am sure you know what he drives like ! lol

Just seen this, that break is so clean they look like they werent even joined in the 1st place, although its damaged, but a break to be proud of non the less, hope it doesnt cost too much to repair.
