Help Needed Chatham

am needing some help ..

payed money out for something that has not turned up and the guy a user on here P1-CHRIS has not sent it or will not return my calls , and before i make the trip from leicester i need to check that the address he gave me is correct

does anyone live in or near HARTINGTON STREET , CHATHAM

can explan more if anyone can help

I think you mean Chatham mate, there is a Hartington street there, just off Otway Street. Don't know the user though mate. sorry

i also made phone calls to him, to arrange to meet as i wanted to buy the strut brace, he said he would meet me & call me back, i never did hear anymore from him & yes he comes from chatham.

sorry yes chatham.

brought a spoiler off the guy for 170, but stupid me thought everyone was as honest as me

i have a receipt that he emailed me and i transfered the money from my account into his so i have proof i paid him

expensive lesson learnt

got 2 options ,

drive for 2 hours and see if the address is real, which doesnt bother me just dont want to waste more money and confront the guy , someone did say that its not the best of areas ..lol thats not a problem for me cos council estates are my life. where i come from even the police drive around in 2 car convoys

or

go to the police , would they really be that bothered about my little issue after all to them its only 170 quid

hi phil, ive just tried ringing him again about strut brace plus mention your p1 spoiler, as he did tell me the spoiler & wheels was sold, still no answer as yet, but if i hear anything from him ill pm you.

yeah i get the same thing, ill keep trying till sat, if i still cant get no answer, ill try & pop round where he lives just incase theres something wrong with his phone, then ill let you know m8t.

might not be a great help to you chasing your parts / cash back, but i would suggest that you post something about your problem in his for sale thread. That may be something he's monitoring, and even if not, then it might just save someone else falling into a hole? Sadly, you may also find some other folk saying "me too". Not sure what the SIDC admin position would be if there does turn out to be a problem - presumably, we wouldn't condone it staying up as an advert / user in case others fell foul? Can't find my club rules booklet (or rules on line anywhere) to see what sanctions the club reserves.

Also could post a comment on his profile - keep it clean, but might just help anyone who might otherwise get in a mess.

May also be worth searching the web for his address / postcode / real name / email / phone numbers - never know who else may have posted with good or bad news about the guy. Equally, if you are still hitting a brick wall after a bit longer, then getting something of that nature into the public domain may help prevent another victim.

Longer term, yes to the police - might get no action, but it might help to build a case if there are other problems in the past or future. Also speak to your bank and ask them to work with the other end to log the account as moody. The courier firm that he said he would use may also be worth speaking to?

Having said all that doom & gloom, here's hoping it all works out and the bits arrive in the morning!

Perhaps this guy has got a car that "HE WILL" lend you until your parts arrive or your money is returned if you persuade him strongly enough.
