pmacFTO Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 As I now have a new oil pump fitted and my mechanic is out in the freezing cold just now finishing off putting it back together, what oil should I put in it bearing in mind the weather for the next few months. The car is lightly modified to 292bhp and I don't drive it that hard, also doesn't get tracked etc. I know Opie Oils says 5w-30 or similar but wondered if I am better with anything else? I always used Mobil 1 10w-40 in the FTO with no problems and I see some people on here use it too. I'm looking thru so many posts and I think Fuchs or Millers is what I'll go for - semi or fully synth tho? I know there are so many opinions about oil but if anyone has an 03 newage just tell me what you use Also, I think I had 10w-60 in it before but Duncan at Hypertech put something different in but I am not sure what he uses! TIA
Spaceman Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 10-60 millers in here fully synth in 05 sti feels a bit think for the first mile or so but doesn`t use a drop and runs very smooth on it Greig
pmacFTO Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 might just pop along to Extreme in Whitburn then and get them to do an oil change.
