Jolly Green Monster Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 tech question if i change my drivers seat with one with no air bag and leave the airbag light on will this send the ecu into limp home mode (check engine) or will the light just stay on just curious the airbag control unit is separate to the ecu.. it will not alter how the car drives.. however if you get a resistor (sometimes sold with the correct plug even) you can plufg that in once the airbag is removed and the light won't come on.. be warned that rturning the ignition on with no airbag will permenantly put the light on until the airbag controller is reset which requires special equipment.. so if fitting a resister do that before turning the ignition back on.. Also to note if the airbag light is no, none of the airbags will work.. Simon
