pmacFTO Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I am rushing round trying to sort out a ferry trip to Holland and read I need to disable the car alarm for the crossing. I think it is still the standard one (03 WRX) and I probably do have the manual in the house but I thought I would just ask on here how to do it! Also - anyone crossed using the ferry at Newcastle? My car is not stupidly low but I just wondered if there is any issues getting on the ferry.

DR Motosport Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I took my car to Ireland on the ferry last year for the Donegal Rally. Never had any issues with the loading onto the ferry. Never even thought about the alarm. It was set but never went off.
colzo Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 If you want to disable the ultrasonics then turn the ignition to 'on' then press the alarm button and the dash LED will flash once. Vacate the car and arm the alarm as normal - the car lights will flash 8 times instead of 4 to let you know the alarm is set without the ultrasonics. After you disarm the alarm the ultrasonics will revert back to normal the next time you arm the alarm. Also if you have a Tracker you will have to tell them it is going on a ferry as the motion sensor will be triggered as the the car will be moving without the keys in the ignition.
