Joe G Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Im fitting my timing belt next weekend on my scoob. Was just wondering if i will need to change the water pump when i do the belt, bearings and tensioner?? There is no probs with the pump as it is but just wanted to know your views. Cheers Joe
Spaceman Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 tensioner is usually a very good one to do as this will be the first time it goes the opposite way form its used to for x ammount of years. id say well worth changing the tensioner as for oil pump and water pump not so sure more something to check once the belt is off see how the bearings are without tension, Greig
Joe G Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 I've bought the fully kit including the bearings so just going to be replaceing the whole lot for piece of mind. Better safe than sorry
