Thirsty and hesitation could be the o2 sensor.

Basically it is a sensor in the exhaust that the ECU watches to allow for correct air fuel ratio, if the sensor is faulty the mix can go rich or lean, in your case it looks like iy may have failed rich. This is not 100% certain but they can just fail fella there is no real reason to suspect anything big.
