John185k Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Evening guys, thought i would post a thread of the impreza story so far. Bought the car for £2000 back in March from a friend of a friend. I am the third owner, with both previous owners servicing the car religiously. When I bought it, the car was pretty much standard bar 2000 spec alloys and solid whiteline drop links. Even has the standard tape deck, which is still there. THis was the car I ran the car as i bought it for 6 months, basically till about 3 weeks ago when i was thinking of selling to purchase a smaller engined vehicle. However the car was due an MOT and Tax, so i decided to add a few bits of second hand parts. So far, I have added 4 pot callipers from a P1 with grooved discs and fast road pads along with braided hoses to the front. After that i decided to take the spoiler off as i wanted something different and prefer the mid level spoilers, however i wanted to spend my cash elsewhere. So I then got a set of used struts from another P1 with eibach pro line springs added. Lowered it alot more than i thought. The car now handles very well indeed, however I still want to delve deeper into the frontend understeer. After this i added a 97 STI rear box, and have a decat on the way to release a bit of burble. The interior and engine are standard, although i would like to upgrade the induction setup in some form int he future. Car has just went through the MOT on Tuesday, where it needed two light bulbs. Not bad for a car that has done 168000 miles. Today i added some subaru mud flaps to complete the exterior. (apart from a wheel refurb.) Some pics... will get a better location in the near future. john

gus the bus Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Taking shape nicely John . Mid level spoiler will sort out the rear regarding wheel refurb I can highly recommend Williams powdercoating in Falkirk
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Looking braw indeed for a high miler !!! Where do you get those flaps if I may ask ?
John185k Posted October 9, 2008 Author Posted October 9, 2008 ebay mate, £6 a pair. Got them in the post this morning after ordering Saturday
mono775 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 nice ! - she looks realy nice - and will sound good when you do the de-cat - i have mine to do lol - keep up the good work
Midnight21 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Nice classic I think its good to be different (with the rear spoiler )
RS Grant Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 That doesnt even look like half the mileage... great to see you taking such good care of it and I really like the no-spoiler look, maybe a wee M3 lip spoiler would finish it off. Quality pics too. Cheers, Grant
Neil82 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Did you buy it off a guy with the last name Lucas?
P1_Paul Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Almost bought this car with my bro(Neil above), I think we offered £1800 before he had it on the market, he wasn't up for it though! Don't remember it looking as good as this when Frank had it!
John185k Posted October 15, 2008 Author Posted October 15, 2008 Cool, Frank really has kept the car well. On another note, would an STI TMIC be an improvement over my standard item?
Neil82 Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Yeah a STi top mount from a new age would be good, don't think it's a straight bolt on fitment though, might need to bodge it on. How have you filled the spoiler holes in the boot?
