mikkers Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Yes, being new can be intimidating, but this true of anything new. Luckily for me the first people i met were dazzler and dunks, and then the first "meet" i went to was with dunks, stiggy, yogi and scooby hoo. It was exceptionally friendly and they are all top blokes, so imo i had the best possible intro to the club And just about everyone since has been very friendly. As for not knowing how long ks will be around for, i find that odd and a bit pesimistic. I think there are enough people to make sure this dosnt happen, especially when you consider how commited the kent regional organiser is. And i must say at the meets i have been on the "bitching" has certainly not been noticable.

The club is not about any one person but the membership as a whole and people will be draw to the club because of the great car we all so like. It was the second meet I went to which Pele made a piont of coming over to speak to me, thanks Pele and the rest is history. The club is a none presser based organisation and you can get as involved as you wish. The more you put in the more you get out, here speaks Billy no friends.

I do try and get round to speak to everyone It can be quite difficult when there is a big meet, so if I miss anyone I always try and make sure I make a point of speaking to them the next time
cossie_eater Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 myself and scoobynut6 have had our scoobs for a while, and are new to the whole meet thing, the last one we went to in Bluewater, and couldn't ask to meet more friendly people. we will get to more meets like the wharf. lets keep the good name of Kent Scoobies running. Chris
scoobienut6 Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 hi everyone, i havent managed to make any meets this year , except the bluewater rally with my mate cossie_eater, but what a fantastic afternoon it was being a newbie as well, meet a few blocks and they made me fill right at home. hope to make a few before the year is out, and quite a few next year. what a fantastic and well run friendly club. dave

T123VOR Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Cheers guys for the comments, seems it's not all doom & gloom when the banks are collapsing, old people burning their dogs for heat, people losing their jobs and wearing last season's clothes, that's doom and gloom Not a few issues with a car club- it's perspectives guys- let's get friendly again... There I said it!! quickly whilst leaving the room Listen I can barely afford to heat my swimming pool at the moment and I've had to let one of my choix chefs go... sad times
