jd Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 (edited) This weekend event has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond the organisers control. Lets hope this is a one off. SAVE OUR STRIP! Edited August 13, 2008 by JD
kevlorn Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 see our elderly residents are getting there own way again..............motorsport in the sw is non existant due to them moaning...
scooby princess Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 fed up of the older generation moaning - they started it when they were younger and now they are old they moan
kevlorn Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 not as if they moved to the area not knowing there is going to be some noise...............its a airfield ffs..
Yummy Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Is that why it's been cancelled Jeez, that's annoying, it's like people who move down here next to Plymouth airport then complain about the aeroplanes eejits! I hope we don't lose it.
kevlorn Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 im just guessing why it has been cancelled tbh............i know there has been alot of hastle from the local residents...must be all of 3 of them lol lol lol lol
scooby princess Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 same with castle combe circuit and haynes motor museum test track - villagers complaining
monkip1 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 **** the villagers, if I got antilag and launch control, Ill keep it on 4000k limiter and let the pops bangs flames **** them off out side there house! That give then something to complain about!
kevlorn Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 **** the villagers, if I got antilag and launch control, Ill keep it on 4000k limiter and let the pops bangs flames **** them off out side there house! That give then something to complain about! thats probably whats upsetting them...........
Terry Butcher Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 **** the villagers, if I got antilag and launch control, Ill keep it on 4000k limiter and let the pops bangs flames **** them off out side there house! That give then something to complain about! hence why they complain and get us banned eh?
jd Posted August 16, 2008 Author Posted August 16, 2008 there is no word on the reason for the cancellation, dont start a riot against the residents.
kevlorn Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 there is no word on the reason for the cancellation, dont start a riot against the residents. riot!! been going on for years, would be different if it were a green field site, but it's not. it WAS a noisy airfield before..................!
emoe Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Its the same up here. Mallory park now has a noise meter, so i cant run Wednesday practice with the race bike, and i cant go set up the Clio for the Cup races. have to go to Silverstone and pay silly money. Also the Motorcross track here in Beds has been closed due to some tit building a housing estate 1 mile away 2 years ago and the new residents saying it was too noisy to have that there!! The motorcross track has been open since 1993!!!!
jd Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 We cannot assume that this is down to the neighbours as all the dates for the events are agreed prior to the year commencing.
jd Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 it may well have been, but lets not jump to conclusions. all we know is it was cancelled.
jd Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 the facts for this event, hate to disagree with you, but it may be the reason for other events being cancelled. But do you know for certain that is why this one was cancelled?
kevlorn Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 just general motorsports events up there in the past have been cancelled.............streetwars dont no.........there will be nothing happening up there next year i bet,,
jd Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 they are already in the process of planning the evnts for next year. they will be limited to x number of events as this year, just have to wait & see what happens. If it does arise that motorsport events are never happening up at the airfield, then they should ban the banger racing and the motocross. It will be down to us, who enjoy the events to fight to save them.
kevlorn Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 they fight every year for events..lets hope they can continue up there..
jd Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 if you buy a house next to an airfield, what do you expect? oooo it de-values the property, it didnt when you bought it in ww2 when it was active & could be bombed, so sod off. pmsl
