Hueston We Have A Problem

after undoing my wheel nuts today then removing the wheel.a few HOURS later after daz had already taken my caliper off and my pads out we noticed that i only have 4 wheel studs one has snapped off!!!! with a wheel nut with it so i only have 4 wheel nut and 4 wheel studs how or were cud it off gone

they do. dont drill it out!!!

new stud and nut, fit the stud in the hub (you have to remove the hub) and job done. if you drill it out, what then? magic a stud in there?

yeah sure! drive on 4!! you could also drive nails into your eyes too!!!

studs are not expensive at all.

If a car is lowered and the resulting toe-out isnt sorted that can put lateral pressure on stud and they can shear off. Happened on my MG metro, totally emptied the hydraulic suspension fluid from the front and i lost a few.

hmmmmm so could be related to my other issue i have off my wheels sticking out one side and not the other

I did mine without removing the Hubs, just give them a good whack and they come out. If it has snapped off flush at the hub then use a punch! Ive fitted longer studs on mine still have all the standard ones if you are stuck mate

Shouldn't be, even with 4 studs & nuts the wheel will still be flush on the hub

i mean he said it happened to him because of toeing i have toeing on my wheel for some reason at the minute dont i wondered if its related

all sorted got myself some free wheel bolts from a kind member on here all i need now is a wheel nut lol so watch out at the meets i could be hunting around your car trying to find one lol
