Rallycross At Lydden Monday 25th August

Are the fine folk of Kent descending on Lydden this Bank Holiday?

Hopefully the weather will be just a bit better than at Easter, and it is only a one day event this time. At our last visit a few weeks ago, the marshal's mound on the inside of Chessons has been bulldozed flat - rumours of a tyre wall instead, but marshalling will be from the tarmac at the top of the bank.

Just seen the latest info - confirmed that this event will be under inspection as a potential inclusion in the European for next year :-

"The event will be observed by inspectors from motor sport's World governing body the FIA and, if it is judged to be up to standard will pave the way for Lydden to host a round of the 2009 European Rallycross Championship."
