corsa Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Has been jumped on by me, started cleaning the Scooby on Saturday, nice day an all that so decided to just carry on till T time, carried on with it tonight and should have it finally coated Wednesday night. Process. Good old wash with nice hot soapy water ( and a SPONGE!!! ) Good ole dry down with Meguiars water magnet cloth ( better than a chamois) Good going over with Auto Glym Tar spot remover and i mean all over Started to clay the car from top to bottom, when i started it i thought fck this aint doing much but after a quick dry even that had made it smoother and you can feeel it lifting the grime. Then a first coat of Meguiars NXT generation 2.0 Tech wax. Left it half an hour and Then a second coat of Meguiars NXT generation 2.0 Tech wax. Good buff with the microfibre cloth and a Meguiars fluffy terry cloth. Next on the agenda Wednesday night is its final coat of Auto Glym Hi Resolution Wax. What a difference to the car already and although hard work and an expensive outlay of material its well worth the expense and the sore arms. Some photos for your appreciation. Davie.
C_WRX Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Good work, another clean Scooby on the road, making me feel even more guilty about my own !!

boris b Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Looks good. Does seem to be a lot of cleaning going on just recently..
thewelsho Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Take it ootside and let's have some proper pics! Looks good tho, from what I can see
nkwrx Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Very clean indeed mate. Now ditch that sponge! Must be a natural sponge Great looking job there
scoobyiain Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 loose the sponge mate Looks a little flat, could be because the pics are taken inside or because there is no polish on it! The car could look so much more reflective.
Frank_STI Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I would always recommend polishing after claying a car, if you are working by hand I would recommend Autoglym Super Resin Polish (Which i bet you already have ), will make all the difference

superstar_tradesman Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I thought that was a reasonable comment.. Didn't see anything wrong with it... also would lhope you were joking re the dull crap statement as I have only ever seen stunning results from our resident detailer.
corsa Posted June 18, 2008 Author Posted June 18, 2008 Don't post a thread if you cannot take negative comments.Could you please inform me on here or by pm what dull crap you refer to? Just because you charge to wash cars dont feel the need to critisise everyone who posts up a picture of their pride and joy after spending hours cleaning it. I clean wax and polish mine because i like doing it i like the look of it when it is shiny. END OF. Some people just look for any excuse to moan. Anyway i am happy with it and thats all that counts. Away and enjoy your own reflection matey. Will take a couple of pics in the morning away from all the dull stuff and hopefully its sunny or that will be another critisism.
scoobyiain Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 i don't charge to WASH cars. I'm also not looking for an excuse to moan, maybe it's you. If you cannot take a bit of constructive critisism then like i said do not post up pictures. Now i'm off to enjoy my own reflection. END OF.

corsa Posted June 18, 2008 Author Posted June 18, 2008 Thought you were away looking at yourself. Let it lie pal. END of.
RS Grant Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Not sure where all that came from.. depending how you read it, you could say it was a bit more blunt than normal but I'm positive there was no bad feeling in the comment that Iain made. Cheers, Grant
