Electrics Shorted / Car Is Immobilised, help - dead scooby !

Hi

when I turned the key to start it up, I pulled back on the key a little before the engine had started and now everything is dead! No dash lights, no central locking, no alarm etc.. everything! I actually had to put the key in the door to lock it! I hope is just a fuse or something huh.gif

its a 98 WRX import and toad alarm.

any help greatly apreciated!

Chris.

I know this is mega obvious but have you checked the battery, ground etc...? Seems strange for everything on the car to be shorted?

I'll ask my mate mikey and get back to you, he is main man when it comes to car electrics **straight on phone**

Hi Frank, thanks for your help,

I'm in leith..

when I get a second i'll go down and check all batt connections again properly, but It seems strange that would be the problem, since it felt like it was the key actions that led to the probelm, you know?

ok I feel silly..

mega obvious as it was its the battery connection. D'oh!

I'm looking for the delete-thread/save-embarassment button, but alas, there isn't one.

has this reset my ECU? do I need to train it again?

Would take feeling "silly" over a difficult/expensive fix any day of the week.

Glad it was such an easy fix. :D
