Power Problem On Mates Wrx

As above mates 05 WRX is feeling a little down on power... he has put in standard petrol for the last couple of tanks I am guessing that this is the issue, however want to make sure I ain't feeding him pish

I drove the car back to back with my 05 WRX and it did feel like the turbo was not giving the kick that I get...

Is there anything else that may cause this other than him being a class 1 prat and using cr@p fuel??

I would say quite possibly the fuel.

I have a MY03 (blobeye) WRX and on the inside of the fuel flap there is a sticker that says "98 RON MINIMUM", and this is on a UK car.

I have always filled up with V-Power or Tesco 99 and once when I was away with work the wife put in standard and said it didn't sound right and didn't feel like it did before. When I got home it was nearly empty so filled back up with the good stuff and it was fine.

Run a few tanks of V-Power/Tesco 99 and then see how it's going.

Hi mate,

I had this problem not so long ago and it's because i used 95ron fuel- this was all i could get during the 'panick buying ' of fuel.Put in a tank full of Super unleaded and the car was running as it should be.

thanks guys, you have confirmed my thoughts, I shall call him and tell him to wise up and use decent fuel!
