Picked the car up at lunchtime today after its top end rebuild. Fortunately the bottom end was not damaged so happy again

Also, after a month of trying, the fiesta hillcimb car runs

a company called Bluchip mate. They are primarily an importer but there mechanic is spot on and isn`t scared to tackle anything

Posted

where are they based then?................very expensive ( if you dont mind me asking )?...............are you pleased with what they have done?

Posted

They`re a local company mate based about 2 miles from me in Guernsey.

It shouldn`t be too expensive as the only parts needed were gaskets and fluids, and the labour is £36 per hour

Yeah it was nice to take it for a drive yesterday. Spent £60 filling both my cars up with fuel though :rotfl:

Kheldar, yes mate, you know the island well?

Posted

Kheldar, if you come over at any point, let me know and I`ll probably meet you off the boat. Can also have a look around some of the hotels too and depending on what time of year it is the prices can be very good in some :D

Hougue Du Pommier isn`t a bad place to go, but there are many better :P

cheers Tiny :D

well i am going back a few years so either others have caught up or Hougue gone down cos it was at the time a very nice hotel and certainly not the cheapest.

we looked at a lot before deciding on it.

i think the other one we stayed at was http://www.lesdouvreshotel.co.uk/

it rings a bell but is about 10 yrs ago now ! really enjoyed our 2 trips there. despite the size of the place we found plenty to do and ofc we visited herm and sark etc.

so what was the end result then Tiny, i wasnt quite 100% with it when i called you.

Kheldar, loads better place to stay then the two you mentioned.. let us know if you come over again, i know a few good hotels..

Had the bill today and was well impressed by it :) I`ll definitely be using them again, maybe even to fit new brakes for me shortly :icon_salut:

That labour charge is spot on Tiny!

And glad your cars up in working again, bet you have polished it to a brilliant white allready havent you lol,

Monki.

Not yet mate, have only driven it twice since I`ve had it back. Getting the wheels powdercoated soon though, and hopefully, Ksport brakes all round :D

Posted

not sure about getting the Ksports now. As much as I want them, there is no guarantee they will fit. I don`t really want to run spacers so that they would fit and i don`t want to replace the wheels so it looks like i may be getting disks and pads and a set of coilovers instead

all depends on what your going to do with the car though tiny...........track days, hill climbs or just general.......dont skimp on your brakes if your going to compete in it..
