johnnyr6 Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 Anyone been out on the track with the standard 2 pots? If so how did they do? i wanted to uprate my brakes, my95 STI2 for the track but due to other commitments i can't afford to at the moment so i was wondering if the 2 pots could handle a little track action. Cheers Johnny
CAZ1562 Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 I had my WRX with 2 pots on the sprint track at Kames and never had any problems but that was only for 95-100 seconds and to be fair its not like you can brake from 100mph to 35mph during that day like you would have to at Knockhill's hairpin. You'll find you run the risk of warping the current disks and suffering from mega fade if you were to push her on a little.
johnnyr6 Posted February 5, 2004 Author Posted February 5, 2004 cheers m8, s'pose i'll find out soon enough (warping them will be a good excuse to change them)
tim_wilkinson Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Johnny Had mine round Knockhill with hardly any probs (well up till lap 10 anyway, then it was fade away time ) Had pagid pads in mine, as CAZ says, the main breaking point is into the hairpin and mine was well over 100 by the time I was there and into the breaking zone - so you need to make sure everything is spot on with ur current set up. I must admit I drove it very hard and was impressed with how the brakes held up for 2pots. Have fun m8 - its the thrill of a lifetime!! Tim
johnnyr6 Posted February 6, 2004 Author Posted February 6, 2004 Cool, cheers Tim, gonna put ebc greenstuff pads in it for now.
