Actually, can you do that with a Scooby...? The larger the sump the lessre chance you have of oil stervation , and the sump is designed to retain the oil during heavy cornering. Higgy
RS Grant Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Define Finished grant Finished: No longer adding parts to this stage... in an attempt to concentrate on whats sitting in your loft for the next stage. Cheers, Grant
AlanG Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Now the joys of taking the engine out to fit it. Higgy Do you need to? I've changed a sump before. Not quite straightforward like most 'bread and butter' cars, but do-able. Saves takin' off all the gubbins associated with engine removal. 'Specially those modified to the levels you're at.
JohnSt Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 The larger the sump the lessre chance you have of oil stervation , and the sump is designed to retain the oil during heavy cornering.Higgy Oh Dear Simon I would not put that anywhere near your car !!! I bought one second hand a couple of years ago and nearly fell off my perch when I saw the baffling, it is the worse piece of work I've ever clapped eyes on. Still keep tripping over it in the garage as mine ain't going anywhere near my car. ---john---
AlanG Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) Is that one the same internally as yours John? I didn't recognise the design on the pic above. Was a while ago since i seen yours though. Edited April 21, 2008 by AlanG
JohnSt Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Is that one the same internally as yours John? I didn't recognise the design on the pic above. Was a while ago since i seen yours though. Identical, the sump casting is nice but IMO the baffle is only worth its weight in scrap !!
JohnSt Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 thats nice Sorry Simon, don't mean to rain on your parade, just my opinion, but I do have a small amount of experience here. Could I be so bold as to post the pic showing the baffle on 22B asking for an opinion, to coroborate what I say ? I'm just trying to save your engine. ---john---

AlanG Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 22B thread 'nuff said! For anyone looking into what a proper baffled sump should look like
thefastone Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Take it that its not just a case of getting new baffles then...?
