imprezyou Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Take some advice from an old timer , save the money on another box wait and go straight for a 6 speed uk sti box , done 3 boxes on my old 2.5 430bhp scoob , 2 were brand new and another was second hand , cost an arm and leg in the long run , go without for a while it worth it in the long run , hope that helps you make your mind up .

Montythegod Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 lol you got more teeth on your 3rd gear than mine..... the whole gear is sitting in the bottom of my box and rattles round when I turn sharply...... been like for 6 months till i get round to sorting it.... Who needs 3rd !

mikkers Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Dont PPG boxes keep your existing 5th gear? What happens if that goes into meltdown, or is 5th pretty much unbreakable. And I think they whine quite a bit, and with your rattling engine rebuild there could be some strange noises coming from your car!

And I think they whine quite a bit, and with your rattling engine rebuild there could be some strange noises coming from your car! yes mate they whine so ill have rattly forged pistons an whining gearbox when i sell people will think its knackered lol an yes ppg keep standard 5th they do go wrong but not very often so nice for cruisin in 5th as no gear whine
