The Car Is Finished - Well Almost! What's Your Thoughts?

Hi all,

After many a late evening in the garage, I think I may have just about finished the rebuild and tart up. The wheels I think are gonna have to be changed as they are just too bloody big (Boo Hoo  )and the steering rack needs replacing, but apart from those jobs I think were ready for The Jim Clark on the 24th May.

What's your thoughts on the new look??? I have added an old pic and a few new to show the difference.

Fantastic !!

Liking the choice of stickers too Gary, certainly suits the car and loving the clean look :D

You sure it's the same car ? Nice colour btw

Pity it's for sale mind......... but good luck with the Jim Clark all the same ....

ps: who's Ingrid ? lol

Hi Frank,

Cheers for the paint that started off the clean look fella. Ingrid is my daughter, my other expensive hobby!!! The car is up for sale unfortunatley, I will be doing The Clark and then hopefully it will be off to another good home. Can't really believe it as I have had the car for the last 5 years and it is now in better nick than it's been for years. Just spent a fortune at TEG getting the engine, gearbox, proflex and diffs re-built. It will be a cracking car for someone to have a blast in.

Looking for around £14,000 for it if anyone is interested.

Cheers

Well thank god for the positive comments, kinda thought it would be that way, it was Kev Dunn who done the decals - the guy is a genius!!! He took 11 hours to do the car - he's a bit of a perfectionist as you can see.

The whole package looks good, pity the wheels don't really fit under the front arches, they rub when on full turn - which is a bit of a bugger. Gonna have to go back to the 17" gold wheels I think.

I think the wheels will be going on the road car and the other wheels I have will be going on the rally car. I have a few 17" x 7" wheels that I am gonna try and fit this weekend. Bit of a pain - but a bit research before I bought 6 wheels with tyres for £1,600 may have helped a tad!!! Thats what you get for trusting the guys from Speedline to advise you.

What are the wheels like bud? Any pictures of them?

They are the same as I have at the mo, probably just put the white 18"s on the road car I think and then put the same as yours on the comp car, I have a few so the reason for the speedlines was to go 18" and change the colour to white to match the car. I am sure the 17" STI gold will be almost as good - fingers crossed!!!

Cheers

Paint them white! I was thinking about painting mine orange to go with the decals I'm getting if the guy who's doing it. ever gets back to me.
