Trackhound Tuning Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I looked! But this section from the FAQs put me off Q What is the worst that can happen if something goes wrong? The problems that have the potential to occur include, but are not limited to: An unreadable/unusable ECU. A blown motor and its subsequent damage. Unexpected behavior on the road or track that may cause injury or death to the user as well as others. Violation of local and/or federal laws due to the modification of the factory ECU. I'll leave it to those in the know! That's just the boys just trying to cover themselves from lawsuits (there are a lot of users in the USA!). I've reflashed my ECU hundreds of times using the software without any problems. Happy to give a demo to anyone interested at the next knockhill trackday.
scoobykev Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 mines is also a my98 and it takes a wee trip to andy a week today for a wee tweakit has 3 inch apexi exhaust, walbro pump, ramair panel filter, V4 sti intercooler, and a low level sti8 scoop and a link ecu will be fitted and been quotes of 275-285bhp on a td04 turbo Is the link ecu a complete replacement ecu and how does it compare the the apexi price wise?

Is that a software demo or a demo of the car's performance or both!!!? Wouldn't mind a wee pax in that now that the first lady has banned me from the track - I mean its only a gear box right? And it was only an engine before that right? Yeeehyaaaa! Who cares!

Both is no problem. You need to get your first lady in line. I mean a PPG gearkit is only the cost of a new kitchen afterall!

Trouble is, not counting the cost of the car from new less than two years ago, I have spent two or three kitchens worth on top of that!!! Can't have it all my way, can I? Be interested to see the software tricks, but like I said before, It's a bit out of my league. Is it possible to use the software also for diagnostics and fault clearing or is it purely a tuning tool?
