cullenmin Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 You'll be back What kind of evo 6 are you getting? Rich
johnnyr6 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I hope you get a goodun but bear in mind an evo is no more reliable than a scoob (although it sounds like you got a bad un). Even if it's totally reliable they still cost loads more to run and look after than a reliable scoob, service every 4.5k inc. ayc fluid change. The joys of performance cars. In saying that i know a of a guy who got rid of his P1 for a E46 M3 and finds the M3 loads cheaper to run. Johnny
ANDYJDMSTI Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 In saying that i know a of a guy who got rid of his P1 for a E46 M3 and finds the M3 loads cheaper to run.Johnny Got rid of mine for a 5.5l V8 Merc and it is cheaper on fuel!!!
thewelsho Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Got rid of mine for a 5.5l V8 Merc and it is cheaper on fuel!!! What was the spec of your old car in terms of BHP and Torque Andy?
RACERX Posted March 10, 2008 Author Posted March 10, 2008 the saying is true guys you only get what you pay for i learned the hard way i paid 7 grand for my x plate 2000 uk turbo to me its just the most cheap and nasty model you can buy i was robbed by myself especialy when you can buy a new age at that price but a evo 6 gsr i am looking at in black thanx for the comments guys regards racerx
RA Dunk Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 theres alot of good ones going about dirt cheap now, you have just been unlucky with yours thats all
ANDYJDMSTI Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 What was the spec of your old car in terms of BHP and Torque Andy? around 390 ish / 390 ish

Sh@t happens, good luck with whatever you get m8. Johnny Would't mind an evo 6.5 myself...
RS Grant Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Just watch you aren't jumping from the frying pan into the fire mate... it sounds like you've had to swallow pretty much all the bills that a classic scoob is going to throw at you, so IMO, might be worth sticking it out for a bit longer. If you are buying an EVO, then I'd suggest joining the MLR (Mitsubishi Lancer Register) and finding a genuine Owners Club car rather than one from the classifieds. Cheers, Grant
RACERX Posted March 10, 2008 Author Posted March 10, 2008 cheers grant will keep that in mind i joined the mlr a few months back when i was toying with the idea but the gearbox going on me just maid my mind up cheers
redrocketjim Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 well all i can say is you wont be any cheaper goin evo they are just as tempramental if not worse. the Ayc, the service intervals!!! you will get more bhp cheaper from the evo tho.....
