Probably YES * 90125 *

on Vinyl TRACK I on the "A" side "Owner of a lonely heart"

The double tracking and overlays are superb, especially the way in which the music floats around the room. The depth and field of the sound is out standing.

This could only be achieved on vinyl because the music had to be compacted for CD's, Hence the name Compact Disc. This meant that a lot of the sound's visual picture was lost.

Produced by the one and only TREVOR HORN. This man was the George Martin of the 1980's and beyond.

He produced the likes of Franky goes to Hollywood, Yes, Vangelis, Tina Turner, Band Aid, Pet Shop Boys, Boyzone, Paul McCartney, DC. and many many more.

People paid him to just to listen to there tracks and even more money to produce a track for them.

Remember "RELAX" by Franky goes to Hollywood. If you get the chance just listen to it on a very good Hi Fi, you'll be blown away.

It's all factory produced now, mores the shame. Check out "THE PRODUCES FREEWAY" on youtube. and hear some tight music. Some of you might even see Lol Creme " I'm not in love " fame.

Oh yes by the way thats a load of rubbish ;) , it's called a compact disc because it's a small disc not because the music is compacted to get on the disc (unlike MP3 etc), all the music that was on the original recording is on a compact disc just like vinyl

I used to think that a CD was simply a vinyl with the edge trimmed off but always wondered what they did with all the holes

Give us a smile

Yes Granby, you are correct, but the recording industry adopted the term Compact

The audio range that was achievable on the recording tape was transferable on to vinyl, the same audio information had to be compressed, or compacted, to get it onto a standard CD, because of the digital information required. The recording studios gave it the nickname "compact".

Try and move from frame to frame on a DVD and you will see that it jumps, this was the same for CD's.

Now we have Super Audio CD's, which store more digital information but thats all to do with Nyquist Shannon sampling theorem. The first CD to be released was ABBA's "The Visitors" 1981.

What else is there to do on a Sunday. ;)
