HOL Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 It stops your car pinking if the map is designed for higher ron petrol. In a standard uk it does nothing. In a JDM import it is advisable if the car has not been remapped from the 100ron jap petrol to uk 97 or 98. As with all things, no car/engine is the exactly same for a particular model.
yogi- Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 In a nutshell the extra octane rating of a fuel only prevents pre ignition and prevents detonation and has NO horse power gains whatsoever.
20withascooby Posted February 20, 2008 Author Posted February 20, 2008 its a jap import and it hasnt been mapped for uk fuel believe its still jap ecu

Nudge Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 I tried it in mine and it wouldn't run properly on boost, kept missing and holding back under boost, i let the tank empty and filled it up to the top and it slowly got better. ????????
luke_clifton Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 When i run mine on Octane booster, there's a very noticable improvement in engine response and pulls harder through the gears. But my ecu has been tampered by a Tuning company in Japan so i dunno what they've done to it (had a signature on the ecu from a well known tuner in japan along with 280ps under it). I personally highly recommend them, and if i could afford to, i'd use them every tank.
