mikeyb13 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Thinking of going up to Crail tomorrow. Been persuaded by a bunch of petrolhead friends. Anyone else going? My mate wants to embarrass me in his Integra and, as I dont have a clue this is a possibility. Where should I have my diff set for maximum pace? How do I not make an ar5e off it? Are the burgers any good? Exactly how bad are the strippers? All suggestions welcome comic or otherwise

Marty.
johnnyr6 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Take the revs up to at least 5k then let the clutch out fast, time the lights right and you'll be off before he's even noticed. The best way with a type r is to wind the diff fully forward for launch then once off the line open it up but this is very hard to do when trying to change gear etc. so iirc playsatan on here left it open and he still launched well. Johnny Oh, burgers are crap.
scoobymark Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 5500 -6000rpm and when the lights go green, lift the clutch sharp and prepare to change into 2nd the burgers are sh@te and cost 3 quid

First two I was making sure to get off the line and didnt get enough revs, they where both in the 14s. Last run i was too busy looking at the revs and missed the lights, nearly a second reaction time and for some reason I let off before the line but I obviously got everything else right as i got a 13.8. Within a second of the best we saw on the day nobody seemed to be able to get away from the line. I see the future. Light 16 wheels, less than 3/4 of a tank of petrol no spare wheel or packed lunches and a start should equal sub 13. Then Fuel pump, pressure regulator then Andy Forrest then who knows. I take it quarter mile days are like fishing trips, full of stories of the one that got away! Gimme mods, Lots off them, think i was the only near standard car there.
cullenmin Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 13.8 is a good run for your first time. TBH you will shave a bit off that with just some practice, then you could throw out all the stuff in the car thats slowing you down or just head for yer remap
