Nudge Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Im thinking of doing a track day at an airfield, i have emailed these with reference of booking something up in june, have asked for discount for good numbers, any of you interested in a go of this, some dates are weekdays but the price reflects this, i know most of the airfields are down my way but hey ho. i will let you know what answers i get back, i'm going to have a go, the good things about airfields are if you lose it, less chance for damage.. http://www.motorsport-events.co.uk/track-days.php
Garth W Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 That sounds like a really good idea, ive always wanted to tear around an airfield to see what my ride can do, especially with less chance of stacking it im well up for that, i hope everyone else is as well!
matthew_buckland Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Obviously nudge i'd be up for this, as for the airfield location, bedford autodrome is an excellent track and well worth a think, matt took galaxy around part of it and it was a grin.
scoobytibs Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 bedford is a great track done this twice costs about 200 quid for day but worth every penny early start thou you have to sign in at 7.30
Nudge Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 (edited) Im thinking of doing a track day at an airfield, i have emailed these with reference of booking something up in june, have asked for discount for good numbers, any of you interested in a go of this, some dates are weekdays but the price reflects this, i know most of the airfields are down my way but hey ho. i will let you know what answers i get back, i'm going to have a go, the good things about airfields are if you lose it, less chance for damage..http://www.motorsport-events.co.uk/track-days.php i heard back from them today referance this, no discount though but they did offer summit else. "Due to the extremely competitive prices we offer for our events we do not offer a discount on the track day price itself. However, if you bring a group of 10 or more to any event you will all be entitled to a free 20 minute instruction session worth £20." so still a bonus, once i get mine rebuilt, i will book it up... HOL Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Im certainly interested. But, its always date dependent with me, as I have kids who are booked up in advance on Fottie leagues and tournaments.
deani_age Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Bedford is a great track with loads of run-off. Just be mindful that Bedford has a very low noise limit. My old RA which runs at about 98dB static on ¾ throttle (without the baffle) was black flagged a few weeks ago for being too noisy on the drive by, and that was with the baffle fitted.
Nudge Posted February 20, 2008 Author Posted February 20, 2008 just so happens someone else has the same idea, but doing it for charity is always better. http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=111964
