scooby princess Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 As i'm sure the members are aware, we require some stuff ready for the forth coming show season including a new flag as the last one was distroyed by flooding to our garage. We will be doing quite alot on the run up to these shows to raise money to purchase these goods and Bailey has suggested that we do a Club Car Boot Sale. After Christmas, you find alot of unwanted gifts and general good quality items just going to waste because you no longer want them. So i would just like to enquire as to who in this area would be will to donate some items and who also would be willing to attend the actual Car Boot to help raise the funds. S.P/EDMONDO - Attend Car Boot, Donate Items SIDC Mum - Donate Items

monkip1 Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Just wondering shouldent monies come from the money pot as its stuff thats required for club stands attended by sidc? Meaning why should funds needed to be raised as i thought my membership costs would have gone towards replacement club stand items, as and when needed? Monki.

We do get support from the main club but as you have personally witnessed, The South West Regions like to go that little bit further for not only the charities we support but for local events as well. It has only been this last year that the South West Regions has been able to regain the members that they used to have but even at the lowest stage we had backing from the club and on a number of occasions i would sit at the computer and cry at the support that was shown. Over the last 3 years we have recieved the following item all supplied from the national club:- Flagpole - (Phil laid a challenge down to which i completed and won the club a flagpole!) Quite expensive S.I.D.C South West Regions lightweight banner - bought when we were another name, has wrong name on it now. 10 stakes - To hold banners etc up first flag - bought by myself but at discount price (again thanks to boss) still have but unable to use due to wrong name.
