Granite City Rally

Hi Guys!

Just received an e-mail from one of the organisers of the Granite City Rally, asking for anyone that may be interested in marshalling at this years event.

According to the ADMC website the date for the Rally is Saturday 26th April and by the looks of things there would also be one training evening sometime before the event. I believe that if there is only a few of us interested then the idea would be to keep us on the same stage. I've no real details about this event as yet, but as and when I do, I will post it up here. All are welcome to come along.

If you are interested, can you either reply here or PM me (or both if you like) and we'll see about getting you involved!

Cheers! :D

I should be able to do it this year (work permitting), the past few years have clashed with Knockhill dates. It's a good day out, as you get to stand closer to the action, where normal spectators aren't allowed. There's free training and usually an after event party.

Hi Folks,

Just had an e-mail from the cheif marshall, and the Date for the Training evening has been set for the 20th April. I have been asking her a few questions, and am just awaiting a reply from them, but is there anyone else that is interested? we have a few interested folks over on Aberdeen Scoobies, is there nobody thats on here that wants to do it?

Should be a good day, and as John says there will be the after event party for those that give up their time to make sure that the event CAN go ahead!

Any of the Aberdeen crowd interested? Or the Elgin/Inverness massiv' perhaps?

Cameras are generally fine, as normally you'll be in a group of marshalls at a specific point/corner. As long as everyone isn't taking photos at the same time there shouldn't be a problem. In fact being a marshall can get you to good vantage points that normal spectators aren't allowed :P

That would be great thanks Scott! :rotfl:

Right Ive had clarification, that the training night is not mandatory, as you can do on the job training...

HOWEVER if you can make the training evening then please do! Even if you are not sure if your going to make the event or not, and can defininitly make the training, then please come along, if nothing else if you can make it to the rally, you have then had the training it then makes things a lot easier on everyone...

duplicate post courtisy of www.rubbish-internet-connections.com :rotfl:

But whilst I'm here I will say that I think that they are stuggling for people to do the marshalling, if they cant get the marshalls, then you might find that they cant run some stages...
