Advice Required

hi guys i am in need of some advice i am book into andy f for a remap next month for my first remap can anyone shed any light on anything i need for my car before hand like gauges etc or can the remap take place without them its just i have a ecutek data monitor and dont want to spend cash i dont need to i was told andy will unplug the data monitor for the ecutek software can anyone shed any light regards scoobzie

Andy monitors it all for you so you need nothing. Get any mods on if you can though. Cooling seems to be the main one beyond decats and the like. If you can get a samco Y pipe or bigger intercooler that might help (depending on what you are driving of course)

otherwise sit back and enjoy the ride home!

No need for any gauges unless you particulary want them yourself. I can access all the data I need direct from the ECU during mapping.

Your data monitor will be plugged back in after mapping is complete.

One thing that may be worth adding, particulary on the 99/00 cars is a knocklink, this will give you early warning of a maf sensor failure which is common on this year of car.

Undetected maf failure can lead to severe engine damage.

Ask Wuz about a K/link Dale. He'll either fit one nice and discreet somewhere so you'll only see the lights rather than the horrible box or he can fit the lights so you can wire it up yourself.

Hi just reading ur Advice on the MY99/OO Cars.(Knocklink) What sort of £ is this item and is it a DIY job.

think they are about £150 for the block sensor and dash display Mate,pretty easy to fit .

Do a search on here or scoobynet,hun'urds of threads about them. :thumbup:

Cheers will do, I'll also give Simon out Ellon a shout see what he would charge to fit it, Am not home much and dont want to spend what little time i do get at home workin on cars these days
