Well I Done It

put my name forward for vol/redundency , weighed up the odds and thought it was better to jump rather than be pushed . now ive got to wait for them to decided who goes ,total of 65 needed out of 200, should walk with 10k plus so should be ok for a few months till i get my hgv licences .

had heard that the company is in financial mess. and from what i can see it aint going to last much longer .even though management are adament there going to keep it open ,but at the same time they have been given the ok by audi/vw to make the same parts in turkey for a fraction of the price .and audi being our biggest customer .

looks like another big name company is going to dissapear from the south west and the uk ,

avon and yes was once part of the avon tyres which we sold to the yanks (cooper tyres) and then squandered the millions on god knows what

good luck mate, Don`t hang around with your hgv licence Can do a week long course that will enable you to drive an artic. Think it normally costs around £1500 or so. just get your theory and medical sorted first
