Ecu Fault Not Showing..

Recommended Posts

Tried ECU explorer today to check a fault code and reset my ECU to clear it..

Got the thing up and running succesfully but the trouble code reader wouldn't show up any fault, both panes for current and historical faults were blank??? There is clearly a fault but it's not showing up..

Then reset the ECU and it worked for a few seconds when i started the car and then the light came back on... Original fault i had diagnosed at the dealer was a low alternator circuit (P0058 maybe) but it's charging fine.. Also on the live feed in the "alternator duty" column, the reading sits at 0% until i put on the heated screen and then goes to 100%, i'm assuming this is part of the 'smart alternator' i've heard of, and only charges when an extra load is imparted on it...

This is doing my head in, anyone recommend a miracle worker to sort this out?
