Had My First Breakdown In The Scooby Today

Posted (edited)

Went out this morning and parked up in the car park of PC World in Orpington, came back out to the car and it wouldn't start, had lights on the dash but just wouldn't turn over :( , battery was fine, tried pushing the car in gear just in case the started motor had jammed but still nothing so called the breakdown recovery and they said it would be about a hour, one and a half hours later they turned up.

Had a look under the bonnet trying to see where the starter motor was which i pointed out to him and hey presto there was the problem, a wire was hanging off the started motor, he managed to get his arm down the small gap between the intercooler and the bulkhead and sort it out

But now i have the CEL light on :o , could he of disturbed something or does anybody know how i find out the reason the CEL has come on

Marty (loonybin) has the handheld plug in thing that gives you the fault codes, sure he wont mind plugging it in yours, also shuts the light off too.

Sorry to hear this Ian but I have to ask what gear were you in........not those fishnets and high heels? Now that would have been worthy of a caption competition

If you cant sort it, we can remove the secs monitor from my car and plug it in as a last resort. (The lead might even reach, if we park them door to door.
