Best way to save money on induction is not to bother - standard is good for decent numbers, and you'll not run into any problems with MAF sensors etc.

Keep checking the for sale section for exhuast bits on the cheap.

ok good plan so just stick with an exhaust just now ... should i just be getting a cat back ?

Yes.. if your not going to go power mad go for a cat=back system.. If you plan to spend more, uprate the brakes and focus on the handling, then you can enjoy the power you have :o

I'm not an expert on the classics myself, but from what I remember you can remove the secondary cat in the centre section without much trouble, but removing the down pipe one is getting to the point where you'd probably want a remap to ensure the car is not only running safely, but that you're unlocking all the power too :o

hi and welcome mate,as mentioned above, leave the "cat" for now get a de-catted centre section and a decent backbox,it'll be sounding sweet ,as for induction leave well alone ,just upgrade the panel filter to a Green filter or similar.

Davie, aas far as the brakes go,if the discs are okay then leave them as standard and look to uprating the pads to ferodos or mintex, something like that, thats the advice ive been given anyway.
