nick_readman Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Hi All, Looking for a bit of advice please. I want to improve the handling of my car ('07 WRX, PPP fitted), and have read all about ARB's, drop links, springs and wheels etc. Starting from back to front, I guess I need 18" rims and it's just a matter of choosing some I like; I was looking at fitting some prodrive springs to the car, which will drop it by 25mm, but a mate has offerred me a set of nearly new springs off a 2004 model Sti. I take it these would fit, but will they be a marked improvement over the standard springs? I notice that Prodrive sell thier springs for both the WRX and the STI - what's the difference? Can I fit the Prodrive STI springs to my car? Will it lower it even further than the Prodrive springs specifically for the WRX? Drop links and anti-roll bars - advice on makes, places to buy and people to fit (in the Aberdeen area) would be most welcome. Once I'm done with that, I can make an appointment to see Mr Forrest. Cheers
Richie Cross Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Hello there, I've got a MY05 WRX wagon and so far I've had the Eibach springs fitted. That dropped the car by about 25mm and I'm really happy with them. A lot of folk will give you other makes etc. Can't speak for the Prodrive though. Or wheels for that matter.....I'm sticking with my 17's. As far as droplinks and arbs go, don't think many people would say anything else but Whiteline which will do the lot. A mixture of good prices and performance. For prices you can contact a fellow forum member, Cusco Kid, for prices or AWD Motorsport. I'm in Ayrshire so someone else will be able to advise on a place to fit up north. Have fun!
Double Zero Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 You cant go wrong with Whiteline products m8,ive just had whiteline drop links fitted and the difference it so much better Stevie _______ 01 WRX
craig79 Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Can't see past the prodrive springs and geo myself. They're very forgiving when you unexpectedly come across some crappy road surfaces and yet when pushing them they firm the ride up, increasing the confidence through the corners - still saving for my whiteline treatment tho just to finish off the handling, will be contacting cusco kid myself - top bloke Craig.
fai17 Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 the 2004 sti springs won't fit your car.... go fod prodrive, tein or eibach for springs and as for the other stuff go for whiteline.....you can't beat them
