soapy Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 hi guy`s lookin for some advice for my scooby there is a gurgling noise comin from my o1 wrx, its only when you start it and rev it a bit at lower revs. think it might be the air con dont think there is air in the cooling system. thumbup thanks in advance.
sti pretender Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Had a gurgling/water noise for my 52 plate Sport. Sounded like it was just the passenger side of the dashboard and happened when at low revs. Had it checked a two dealership and and independent garage couldn't find a problem. Could get ride of it by bleeding the system but came back after a week or two. They all reckoned it was a tiny hole or crack in the heater matrix. Didn't cause and condensation and water level only needed a wee top-up every 3-4 months so wasn't a major problem just annoying. Just checked the level regularly to make sure it hadn't got any worse the cost of fitting a new matrix wasn't worth it.

crispyduck Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 soapy, I agree with the above. Mine has done it (MY03 WRX) ever since the cooling system was drained and refilled during a major service. It has been done again since and still does as you explain. Now out of warranty, my _trusted_ after market specialist says it is very difficult to get rid this minor air lock in the heater matrix. Still really annoying though :-(
GaryD Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Mine does this aswell, nothing to worry about, just turn the stereo up!
