craig79 Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Just a wee heads up when it comes to your insurance renewal. Mine came through about a month before it was meant to renew (Direct Line). Remember it being in the region of £640 fc. So, bored at work and out of interest did the online quote thing again - £420. But this didn't include any mods, so thought to myself, there surely cannae be that much o a difference by adding a 'few' addie on's ?? Phoned them once I got home and the lady proceeded to tell me that my renewal on record was £758.... The difference was due to DL not giving you the 0% interest on your monthly payments after your first year with them (they dinnae tell you that in the advert!!) ?? So, I said just run me a new qoute please and after the mundane task of explaining every little detail of what has been done to the car.......£509 RESULT !! Just goes to show it's always worth another wee check Craig.
scouk Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Quite agree. Last renewal I had with elephant.co.uk they quoted me somethign liek £800 at renewal, although they forgot to send me out a letter of renewal until I asked for one 2 days before insurance ran out. Went and did an on-line quote on their website and got a quote of £750, £50 cheaper than the renewal for the same details!. Phoned them up, during the day to get UK call center, and whinged. Ended up getting it for £720 over the phone! So much for onlien discounts, and dont trust the renewal quote event fromteh same company! Looking to change companies this this year..
