B14RY W Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 My Classis Turbo 2000 has been off the road and sat for about 6 months. All the work has now been done and I was hoping to have it back out and about by now. Unfortunately though I have a block in the cooling system and its driving me nuts, I have replaced the radiator and also the Thermostat, as they had both seen better days, but to no avail. Does anyone know of any other common areas to be blocked and how to unblock. Its not just an air lock either. Thanks for any advice Barry Just a wee pic of my car.
drb5 Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 What do you mean it's not just an air block....if your saying it's blocked? When filling the tank, take the wee pipe that comes from the top left of the radiator(NOT the one that goes over the rad to expansion bottle), squeeze the big pipe that goes from the rad to the cross pipe next the the power steering pipe and hold. Then put your finger over the end of the wee pipe and release the pressure of the big pipe. This SHOULD draw the fluid through and thus getting rid of a block/air. Other than that, you could try running the car at about 3-4k revs with the tank cap off and fill it up if it goes down. Really need two people to do that job though.

I mean with the car lying for 6 months, I think there is some sludge lying somewhere. I have tried this procedure several times without success. Thanks for the help.
