boris b Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Went to check the rear tyres today as i 'm going to need front ones soon. When i put my hand under the rear offside wheel arch, to feel the inside of the tyre, the inside of the arch just touches the top of my hand... Then done the same on the nearside....could just squeeze my hand in and no more. [:^)] That side is obviously sitting lower.... Whats up ? Spring bust or wot. Had a look under with a torch. No obvious cracks , just corrosion of outer coating on spring. Any ideas folks ? Cheers Kit B
glen_cadwallader Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 sounds like a broken spring mate ! Jack it up and have a closer inspection.
euan_r Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 surface car sitting on has to be absolutley flat. had the same and after new springs and shocks it still did it a bit anyway, i needed new shocks anyway. The springs are probably tired though. might be worth checking height of spring seats to tyres on both sides as ive had these collapse several times on a legacy but it gets hammered along farm tracks.
