RB5_233 Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Malta Inn is still a beefeater and there is plenty of parking there. The food is great as you would expect for a beefeater.
baser999 Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Unless anyone can offer anywhere else shall I call them tomorrow and see what their policy is as regards a booking for say 20 on that Saturday night?
Scooby Hoo? Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Unless anyone can offer anywhere else shall I call them tomorrow and see what their policy is as regards a booking for say 20 on that Saturday night? Fine by us Barry [Y]
HOL Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 The Malta inn is actually one of the worst for car thefts in Maidstone Its also very busy of a weekend, so we will be parked all over the place.
HOL Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 SATURDAY 25 AUGUST I have just noticed the date too. I am away anyway [] If you do not want Chinese, Indian or Thai, there are safer parking beefeater-type places around. Eg. Manor Farm Beefeater - Rainham Honorable Pilot - Gillingham Brewers Fayre - Leyborne. http://www.accessplace.com/english-restaur.../gillingham.htm
shiralee Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 There is a nice Chinese on the A20 Mings (pardon the name the food is really good). Right next door there is a Travelodge or a Beefeater restaurant - so loads of parking!! Crown City is another nice Chinese its on the Teston Road Waterinbury- Enough parking there too!!

Given what Andy has said about parking issues at The Malta perhaps its best to avoid it altogether. Want to make a few enquiries with the chinese Shiralee? Anyone know of any suitable pasta/pizza or 'proper' burger type places to give us another option?
shiralee Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 The Malta is a night mare!! Will probably be better for someone elsae to call unless you can wait till I am back off holiday?? TGI s Lakeside would provide a tunnel on route!! Jack Daniels wings mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!
baser999 Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 The Malta is a night mare!! Think we'll discount this in view of what Andy said TGI s Lakeside would provide a tunnel on route!! Will give them a call and make enquiries tomorrow
baser999 Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Have just called TGIs at Lakeside who'll take a group booking for Saturday 25th. Logistically it means that they have to put tables together and for this reason we either book for 7pm or 9pm.....in other words we'll only have the table for 2 hours which shouldn't be a problem. They'll need a deposit of £5ph and obviously the earlier we book the better chance we have of securing our preferred time slot. Imho if there's going to be littl'uns coming along we'd be better with the early slot leaving us time perhaps for a run uptown afterwards? This would then save having to try and slot a seperate date into the calendar and if the foods cr*p we could always go to the McD drive thru lol Is everyone happy with TGIs or do we want to consider anywhere else? Perhaps we should be looking to make a booking by, say, 11th which gives us a fortnight to sort numbers and deposits. Lets start a list lol Baser999 2 adults

If there where no Southerners present it would have all been for free with two days of food and spirit, but it has taken centuries of hard work to build our reputation and we wouldn't what to throw it away just like that.
