matt78 Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Help! Today I dropped my car (a 1999 english impreza turbo) into the local subaru garage for a service and cam-belt change. I recieved a phone call a couple hours later saying there were a number of things that needed attention, the main one being my rear diff. They claim to have found 3 'teeth' in the oil when they were changing it, and quoted me £2800 for a new diff, fitted. General 'wear and tear' as they put it, and it could go anytime, from today to a couple year's time. However, on speaking to somebody else, they have told me that if there were 3 teeth missing it simply wouldn't drive and may 'explode'. Are subaru being a bit naughty here and trying it on? I only know the basics on engines and mechanics so somebody HELP!!! Cheers, Matt.
