craig79 Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Hi abody, did a search on this topic but wasnae much in the way of normal road use info. Got proxes at the moment 225/45/17 and was wondering what everyone lives with day to day tyre pressure wise ??. Remember something like 34F and 32R, just sounds helluva soft. Think mine is 36 F&R and the fronts still look a bit squidgy, got any opinions folks ?? Craig.
john_mchutchison Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 i would like an answer to this as well, i have pirelli 225/40/18 and i cant find a decent tyre pressure, to soft and it tramlines like f***, to hard and they wear in the middle, HELP!!!
Richie Cross Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I have 215/45/17 Pirelli P7000's. Found the back end would pop out in the wet so was thinking they weren't the best tyres??? Currently run them at 31F/ 30R after speaking with Greers. Trying different pressures til I find the best! Had a look at the sticker in the car....it has them at 23/22!! Is that right!? With regards to handling.....is it better to have them too hard or soft?
colzo Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 I`ve got 235/40/18 Toyo T1Rs which I have at 34F and 32R which I find suit my style of driving.
wrxchris Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 according to the bridgestone chart at my work, factory sized 17"tyres should run 31f 33r
mazheriqbal_mohammed Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 according to the bridgestone chart at my work, factory sized 17"tyres should run 31f 33r Thats exactly the tyre pressure i use on my 17's [] The way i did it was to just experiment a bit until i found something that suited my driving style as each to their own! []
craig79 Posted June 22, 2007 Author Posted June 22, 2007 It definitely seems that there's no right or wrong answer here, as alot of folks say 'each to their own'. Think i'll just have to have a wee tweak, then go for a blast [] Craig.
wrxchris Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 one thing i will say is dont be fooled into thinkin if you have bigger tyres say 18's over the standard 17's that more air is the way to go. it doesnt work like that
Hepy Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 The man from Prodrive told me 33F 31R was the perfect pressures. I had 18"s on a P1 with 225/35/18 tyres (correct tyre size for 18's on a classic btw)
