Silly question but since we are on the subject of oil.... Which oil should i buy? My imediate thoughts are dont by cheap S**te but i have no idea.

While at TSL they said that my clutch may need doing in the coming months. So, who can advise on where, how long and cost on getting it done on my 03 STI?

Right.... Visited TSL yesterday and had all the work carried out. As i was not having a rolling road done at the end we had to go on the computer mapping but they seem to think that the car gave impressive results. Mapped on Tesco 99RON with no silcon, 275-280 at wheel (i think he said), Approx 350hpb although my 19" tyres effected it a little, 340-350 torquey. I did not really know what to expect as far as noticing the difference but once i got the car back home on roads i knew well i really noticed it. The car feels really smooth in comparison to the feeling before and it goes without saying that it goes like S**T of a shovel. Was not really expecting the exhaust note to change but it has and now sounds a lot more raspy with a more pronounced burble. Its also ALOT louder which i am sure the neighbours will be really pleased with especially because i have been leaving the house at 5am recently. May hit the essex meet on Saturday if i can. Overall a fantastic day with top people across the board. I would go back again and no doubt will be in the coming months as they noticed my clutch slipped slightly while in sixth gear. Appears ok but something to keep in mind if i come to a stand still! Cheers TSL! [Y]

Spoke to TSL and they said that its highly unlikely to be the Turbo as they are "ultra reliable" on the 03 STI. Also said that they do not think it would be bearings as they are Roller Bearings and not Floating. They also thought it would be unlikly if it was dirty. Hmmm very odd then... There advice is to bring it anyway and they will check it before going ahead with work. Anyone else have any thoughts?

If it is that, is it easily resolved? Cleaning?

I have noticed that my (turbo?) sounds a little ... er gritty. I say gritty because i dont know what else to call it and i say turbo because i hear it spin up. Not sure if its been there a while or that it means i should be worried about something. I am heading to TSL next week so i can get them to check it then but anyone have any ideas or thoughts/experience of what it could be? Cheer all

Good advice mate. I am speaking to them again at the moment but it looks like i can have it done on the 1st if i can get the time booked of work at this stage. Would not normally be a problem but we have projects going live end and beginning of month which may mean i canont do it.

spose it is two weeks but its short notice none the less. They have offered me 20th or 1st but i have work commitments which means its gonna be hard to move dates around. I was having about £2,500+ of work ... 350bhp from stock U.K STI. Hope they come back to me and say they can do it after all but i am already looking elsewhere but anywhere else would have to fit me in for the same dates otherwise i cannot do
